Salil Tripathi

Salil Tripathi was born in the city once known as Bombay and studied at New Era School and Sydenham College, and later, at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College in the United States. He is an award-winning journalist and has written three works of non-fiction, including The Colonel Who Would Not Repent: The Bangladesh War and its Unquiet Legacy. He has been a foreign correspondent in Southeast Asia, and a human rights researcher in Africa, Eastern Europe, and Latin America. He chaired the PEN International’s Writers in Prison Committee and is now a member of its board. He is also on the panel of the Vaclav Havel Center Disturbing the Peace Award. He lives in New York.
