Arun Kumar is the country’s leading authority on the black economy and has studied, written about and lectured extensively on the phenomenon for nearly four decades. He was educated at Delhi University, Princeton University and Jawaharlal Nehru University. He taught Economics at JNU from 1984 to 2015.
His areas of specialization are Development Economics, Public Finance and Public Policy and Macroeconomics, and he has published widely in these areas, both in academic journals and the popular press.
